About The Position

As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for managing social media accounts for a variety of clients. This role will include brainstorming strategy and ideas for social media, content creation, caption writing, design of social graphics, editing and creating Reels, posting and scheduling content, and interacting with social media audiences. If you love social media, being creative, and creating content, this position is a great fit for you. This position has opportunities for growth or expansion into a full time role for the right candidate if desired.


  • Create and curate compelling social media content for multiple clients on Instagram and Facebook
  • Understand individual clients and how to create on-brand content that will resonate with their audiences
  • Brainstorm ideas and strategy for social media content
  • Create monthly content calendars
  • Select and edit photos
  • Write content including captions and stories
  • Design eye-catching, custom graphics for social media posts, stories, and more
  • Create Reels and TikToks including editing clips, recording voice-overs, and choosing trending sounds
  • Schedule and post content both manually and using SproutSocial
  • Manage social media communities including responding to comments and DMs and liking and commenting on relevant content to grow audience
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends
  • Compile analytics reports and prepare recommendations for improvement
  • Reach out to businesses, organizations, and individuals for content to share as needed
  • Shoot photos and video clips on location in the Greater Milwaukee Area (optional for local candidates)
  • Use Flow to keep track of tasks and project management (Flow training provided if needed)


  • 2+ years of experience managing social media accounts and creating custom content
  • Degree in marketing, journalism, strategic communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to design graphics and stories for social media using Adobe and/or Canva
  • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills and the ability to write engaging social media content and captions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to be flexible as client needs change
  • Proficiency with Facebook and Instagram
  • Experience creating and editing Instagram Reels
  • Creative and not afraid to bring your ideas to the table
  • Knowledge of SproutSocial or another social media scheduling tool (or willingness to learn)
  • Email marketing experience is a bonus but not required
